THE BENEFITS OF AN ENDOSCOPE OVER A MICROSCOPE
There is an 8mm incision for the endoscopic portal versus the smallest incision available with the market leading microscope systems (14mm).
Constant irrigation that can be infused with medicine is fed into the endoscope. This also frees up a hand for the surgeon as irrigating is traditionally done manually.
Ligamentum Flavum is not violated nor is muscle stripped during the transforaminal approach.
The removal of these structures is mandatory when using a microscope during the direct posterior approach for the same pathologies. This has an impact on both blood loss and post-operative pain.
No bridges are burned. Every traditional procedure will still be an option after an endoscopic discectomy or decompression. The endoscope has a perfect place in the spectrum of care.
THE BENEFITS OF FLEXIBLE SPINE OVER OUR COMPETITION
Safety. Flexible Spine has blunt tipped, side cutting rasps and tissue protection tubes for the foraminotomy procedure. These tubes protect both the neural tissue and posterior annulus while safely resecting the SAP. We also offer the more common trephines but with important differences when compared to the current market leaders - they go through a tissue protection tube, thus making them hollow and able to safely resect much more bone than a trephine that passes over a dilator.
Fixed cost. Due to our multi-use business model, the customer pays the same fixed fee per surgery regardless of additional items required or mishaps with sterility. There are currently no disposables other than the irrigation tubing.
Compatibility. Our equipment is designed to be used with any tower or bipolar generator in any modern surgical facility. There is no massive capital outlay required to work with us.
Custom sets. Flexible Spine can create custom sets for facilities based on their needs, not ours.
